Position Overview: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team. The Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing budgets, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  2. Prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  3. Coordinate financial reporting to donors, including the preparation of grant financial reports and budget modifications.
  4. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and donor guidelines.
  5. Assist with financial planning and forecasting to support strategic decision-making and program development.
  6. Conduct regular financial analysis and provide recommendations for improving financial

performance and efficiency.

  1. Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure sufficient funds are available for program implementation and organizational sustainability.
  2. Coordinate audits and financial reviews, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  3. Provide training and support to staff on financial policies, procedures, and systems.
  4. Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and best practices relevant to the NGO sector.
  5. Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and decision-making.
  7. Stay up-to-date with financial best practices and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Proven experience working in finance or accounting roles.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a strong experience in the nonprofit field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ICAN, CFA) are a plus.
